The club shall be called Devizes
Town F.C. Youth (The Club) and shall be affiliated
to the Wiltshire County Football Association.
OBJECT:
Its object
shall be to provide Association Football for its
members and such social and recreative pursuits
as may be deemed desirable by the committee..
STATUS OF
RULES:
These
rules (the Club Rules) form a binding agreement
between each member of the Club.
OFFICERS:
The Officers
shall consist of a Chair, Secretary, Treasurer
and a Fixtures/Members Secretary all of whom shall
be elected at the Annual General Meeting, by members
over 18 years of age.
COMMITTEE:
The club
shall be controlled by a General Committee consisting
of the Officers and two members who shall be elected
by the Annual General Meeting, by members over
18 years of age. All members of the committee
shall have equal voting powers. The General Committee
shall meet at least six times a year and the proceedings
of such meetings shall be duly recorded in the
minutes and signed as accurate by the Chair and
one other Committee member.
POWER OF THE
COMMITTEE:
The property
and/or assets of the Club shall be vested in the
General Committee. The General Committee shall
have the power to appoint such Sub-Committees
from time to time as deemed necessary and shall
receive reports from such Sub-Committee meetings.
The General Committee shall have the power to
suspend or expel any member deemed guilty of conduct
prejudicial to the good name of the club. The
General Committee shall have the power to fill
such vacancies as may arise in its constitution
between Annual General Meetings. The General Committee
shall have the power to declare a seat vacant
should a member absent himself/herself from three
consecutive meetings without an explanation deemed
to be satisfactory.
MEMBERSHIP:
Membership
shall consist of playing and non-playing members,
but only members over 18 years of age are eligible
to vote. Candidates for election shall be proposed
and seconded by Club members. The treasurer and
the secretary shall keep a register of the members
of the club. In the event of the non-payment of
subscriptions by 31st January in the current season,
membership shall be deemed to be terminated. A
member Wishing to resign shall give notice to
this effect in writing to the Secretary, such
notice to be accompanied by payment of all his
club dues for the season.
SUBSCRIPTION:
The annual
subscription of the Club shall be:- Decided by
the General Committee annually. Subscriptions
shall be due on 1st September in each season and
should be paid in full by 30th September.
ANNUAL GENERAL
MEETING:
The Annual
General Meeting shall be held not later than 30th
June in each year. The Secretary shall give not
less than 21 days clear notice of such a meeting
to all members. The financial statement and the
secretary's report shall be received by the meeting,
also the election of Officers and the General
Committee, by ballot, the appointment of an independent
financial examiner and the transaction of any
other business.
EXTRAORDINARY
GENERAL MEETING:
An Extraordinary
General Meeting may be convened by the General
Committee when deemed desirable and upon the written
request of 10 or more members (over the age of
18 years). The Secretary shall give seven clear
days notice to all members of such a meeting,
at which a third of all members over the age of
18 years shall form a quorum.
FINANCE:
The General
Committee shall be caused to keep proper books
of account, which shall be examined annually by
an independent person. The treasurer shall sign
official receipts of all monies received. The
General Committee shall authorise all cheques
to be signed by at least two of its members.
ALTERATION
TO THE RULES:
No alteration
to these rules shall be made except at the Annual
General Meeting or at an Extraordinary General
Meeting convened for that purpose only and if
supported by two thirds of those present and eligible
to vote. Notice of proposed alterations to these
rules must be given in writing to the Secretary
by 31st May in each year and notified to the members
on the Notice of the Meeting.
OTHER BUSINESS:
The General
Committee, the decision of which body shall be
final and binding, shall deal with any other matters
not governed by the foregoing rules.
